AXP, AP and Masteries: understanding archetype progression
Experience, point allocation and permanent bonuses serve different purposes. Here is how to tell them apart.

Planning your Pro is easier when you distinguish archetype experience, allocation and active bonuses. They are connected, but answer different questions.
AXP is progression; AP is allocation
According to EA's help pages, archetypes are available from the start. comes from matches, objectives and certain consumables. As you progress, you customise your player's attributes.
You can reallocate attributes gradually by lowering individual ratings and spending the refunded points elsewhere. This does not require a paid reset item or Grounds Coins.
Instant AXP items can have their own level restrictions. These limit use of the item, rather than replacing the archetype's overall level cap.
Bonuses from other archetypes
EA's official Deep Dive describes as permanent bonuses unlocked through archetype progression that apply across builds. Its example is a level 10 granting +1 Finishing and Composure.
How ClubsLab handles this
Set your progression levels in Archetype bonuses. The builder applies the available bonuses from the selected preset. It does not infer your progress from your main player's level: you need to enter the settings yourself.
When testing a new build, choose your actual level and progression preset before adjusting attributes. This shows which bonuses you already have and which upgrades still cost AP.
For a future build you are discussing with your team, save a separate preset with a clear name. This helps distinguish your current player from a progression plan.
Getting started
- Enter the actual level of the archetype you want to use.
- Check your other archetype bonus preset.
- Select club boosts if your team has them.
- Compare raw and final ratings using the same display mode.
